The Opposite Of “Addiction” is “Connection”. --Ted Talk from TEDGlobal London, Johann Hari
“Addiction” can be seen as a form of disappointment in one’s current status, a way of trying to escape the physical world. On the other hand, "connection" represents being accepted by this world, feeling a sense of belonging.
As the world changes faster and faster, more people will seek "connection" to foster that sense of belonging. As individuals invest increasing amounts of time into relationships and connections in an effort to find fulfillment and a place in society, managing these connections becomes overwhelming, leaving little energy to embrace new things. This type of connection(connection as a tool, with no deeply feeling to one another) can form with anyone or anything, without becoming an addiction to a specific person. However, the very need for connection can, in itself, become a form of addiction.
My speculative future envisions people becoming increasingly tied to one another, doing everything together to avoid feeling empty or becoming addicted to anything.
Each loop or animation serves as a satire on the excessive connections between people, so much that even become an addiction.
