Luna worked for the whole part including project idea build and coding

This interaction is to let people aware of the nature the creature that living around us, have the sense of feeling that—we , human beings are part of the nature world, through match different people into different plants in nature

The inspiration started with a fascination for the structural similarities between physical simulation engines and ml5.js pose detection. Both operate on the principle of skeletons held together by strings — one mechanical, the other biological. This parallel inspired me to pair them together to see what kind of “chemical reaction” could emerge.

I was also deeply inspired by the idea of emotional mirroring, and how technology might act as a translator of inner states. Initially, I envisioned a multi-user experience, with multiple plant-like characters reacting to collective connection between people. However, due to limited collaboration, I adapted the system to function with a single participant using both wrists, simulating internal duality and balance.

The character itself draws aesthetic inspiration from plants — living beings that grow, adapt, and respond to subtle environmental changes.

Using ml5 body pose to trigger and interact with plants figures

Through this interaction, FluffyBuddy becomes a metaphor: a soft, responsive, emotionally intelligent “being” that lives at the intersection of technology and nature, self and other.
